No they don't
Randy and Claudia Perea, they've been in business for over 35 years now. Randy started the restaurant from ground up, great food a must stop in and eat place
Cozy, but great food
This is by far the best New Mexican food my family and I have ever had. The staff has always been friendly and the service is great. We don’t live in New Mexico now, but eating at Parea’s is the highlight of our trip when we visit.
Perea's is always a good choice. The red chili is pretty darn good. The tortillas are made fresh and are exceptional! The carne adovada is great. It's too bad that we're all having to contend with coronavirus because I enjoy the cozy atmosphere of Perea's.I've been eating at Perea's for 20 years and have never been disappointed.
Amazing flavors, very friendly service, worth coming to, even with the current restrictions for eating in.
My husband and I have gone to Perea’s for about 30 years at several different locations. When we go in all of the waitresses know I am a number five, cheese enchilada green, hashbrowns instead of beans and rice, flour tortilla instead of a sopapilla. I can’t speak to the bad experiences that a few have had coming here. But, what I can tell you is my food is always great, and they are kinda like family. :o)
Delicious food, sweet servers, reasonable prices. The stuffed sopas I had this morning were EXCELLENT. The only downside is that it's a small restaurant and when they get people waiting, the servers start checking on you a lot more regularly and it starts to feel like they're hurrying you along.
Always love the food and service. Do my best to stop by whenever I visit Albuquerque. Chile always has a bite but great flavor.Red, Green, or Christmas always great taste.I can never choose so I go with Christmas. Huevos Rancheros with hash browns.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Perea's recently, Sept. 2018.Ordered Huevos Rancheros topped with GREEN Chile and melted cheddar. Ordered my eggs over medium, whole beans and crispy hashbrowns. The order came to the table quick and nice and smoky hot. The eggs were done almost perfectly, the beans were delicious and the hashbrowns could have stayed on the griddle for another full minute to get them browned more. The flavor of the GREEN Chile was excellent...They are known for having hotter (Chile hot) green Chile and that's the way I like it. Overall, the food was very satisfying and the service was excellent. Will definitely travel the almost 15 miles from the west side to eat here.I totally recommend you do the same...You won't regret it. Mike Santullo Albuquerque
If you are looking for the hottest chili this is your go to place. Enchiladas are always my go to.Their burritos are a nice proportion. Beans have a very different flavor but incredible to the taste. We travel 45min to make this a go to place and well worth it.
Delicious! The frijoles had great flavor, the chicken tacos were quite juicy, and the salsa was just the right level of heat for my "not-as-hot-as-native-Burquenos" tongue.LOL The sopaipilla was wonderful, so hot and soft and fluffy.
This is very traditional New Mexican food. Be aware that the food is quite spicy. We were four in my party, and everyone felt it was too hot for our taste (granted, we are from Texas and not from New Mexico). I was able to enjoy it more than the rest. So if you don't like spicy food, you need to take extra precautions to inform the waitress.
Comparable to Grandma's cooking. Simply amazing!!!
Best red and green Chile I've tasted in a long time. It tastes just as good as my Nana's!! 😍 the service was amazing!
Awesome employee's. Great food..A+++
Not happy or glad to have to write this, but recent experience was really eye-opening. I went to Perea's on Friday July 3. I ordered my meal and sat down to wait. Another diner came in after me and sat nearby. My meal came out and it was placed in front of the other diner who opened it up and breathed on it a few seconds. The server realized her mistake and picked it up, only to bring it over and set it in front of me. I recoiled a bit and she asked if I'd like a replacement. I said yes, I did. She then re-appeared in less than a minute with my "replacement" food. I walked out. It seems clear that even under the best of circumstances, Perea's commitment to cleanliness is less than sincere. I realize that this may be thought of as an over-reaction, but these days I don't believe in taking risks.
New location is a former Long John Silver's, smaller than the previous location, but they still have the BEST huevos rancheros I've ever had. Love the green chili sauce made with ground beef. Really kicks up the flavor!
Like the sign says; BEST CHILIE IN TOWN!!
New Mexican food at best. The green chile is the best. The tortillas are out of this world. The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond.
The green and red chili are equally DELICIOUS
Breakfast burrito is great. Small place, but big taste.
Great green chili beef burrito. Reminds me of my grandmothers cooking. Gloria is wonderful. Highly recommend if you are looking for authentic dishes with excellent customer service. Worth the drive from the east mountain.
The tram was down but Perea’s chile salvaged the trip to East ABQ. Fantastic huevos rancheros with whole beans and shredded potatoes, smothered in “deeply warming” but not “face melting” green chile. Every cup of the “blue collar” coffee was fresh. Next time I’m in the area and stop by I’ll try a carne adovada dish smothered in red chile. (Most customers at the time appeared to be enjoying the red.)
That was delicious. Nice staff great food quick service definitely going on my regular breakfast list
WOW, The homemade green chili is the best I have tasted. Hot with great flavor. This small restaurant has incredibly fat service. My eggs were out of this world.
Many many moons ago I tried Perea’s and fell in love . The best authentic Mexican food you were ever try!!!! The pancakes 🥞 is amazing. It’s worth ever penny and the staff is amazing.
Best Mexican food on earth! A welcome New Mexican touch to great food, and excellent service. For travelers passing through, the Chile is a hot salsa-type sauce - they let us try a sample of each before we ordered. I may move here just so I could experience this every day.
Always the best red and green in NM. Not for tourists haha. Definitely only for experienced chile eaters! Never had anything but top notch meals from here. Every meal is delicious!
They have excellent green chile enchiladas but you need to ask your chili on the side because it's way too hot but very very good the waitresses and everybody in there are wonderful with you I enjoyed very much thank you Perea's Mexican restaurant
